Another month gone by

Well, here I am again, playing catch up. Doing all of these in one big post.

Before it got to cold, we had a few friends over to do an outdoor movie night. We hadn't done this in so long and couldn't wait! Had a blast and ate dinner with friends. Claire is such a cheeser... smiles all the time. :)

I had an amazing opportunity to go to Time Out for Women in Covington,Ky. It was a weekend filled with inspiration, friends and some great thoughts. Thanks girls for spending it with me and enjoying such an amazing opportunity.

Halloween was upon us quickly. I felt like it lasted forever this year, but we enjoyed it. This was the first year since we have been married, that we have ever carved pumpkins! So crazy! We went to our friends house, the Driscolls, and had so much fun. I cut off one of my towers,.... but it still turned out ok. Seth, the artist, drew his free-hand and did a great job.

Well, she is now in her big girl bed (or no crib around the mattress until we get her a twin bed). She has done so great with it. She never tries to get out of her room and sleeps pretty well. She hasn't quite mastered staying on the bed yet. Yesterday morning, I found her right by the bedroom door with her blanket. So hopefully, she will get it down soon. Claire loves to run and jump on the bed and hide with her "blankie"

Claire fully enjoyed "punkins" this year. She got to pick her own out and always wanted to go outside to play with it. It last a heck of a lot longer then I thought it would. It got shoved, thrown and kicked a lot. One day she dropped it and it went rolling. All I heard was, "Woah, woah woah punkin." Then she picked it up and said, "Shhhh, Shhhh" and rocked it. :) I wish I would have had a video camera!!!!

First day of the Halloween weekend. We went to our ward trunk-r-treat. Claire was a bee again but was a littler warmer thanks to Kathryn (Cherry Tree Road) for her awesome hat! Claire was the cutest thing ever and I died when she kept saying "Trick or Treat." Sweetest little voice in the world.

Saturday we headed over to the Low's annual party. So fun and so many good friends there. Seth did a great job with our costumes while I was out doing pictures.

Halloween finally came on Monday night. Claire's first time trick-or-treating. She did so great and loved being with her friends and going door to door. Again - I swear she got double the candy because of how she said "trick-or-treat." We had dinner at our house before we headed out and I live in such a great neighborhood now! It was fun to meet more of my neighbors too!

Life is good and busy now. We are just trying to make it to Christmas break. I can't wait for a long break with Seth. He is doing well in school and working hard like always. I can't believe we are almost half way through 2nd year. Time sure does fly. I did a lot of photography this past month. So grateful for my friends and clients. They have been so fun to take pictures of and to get to know... and thank you Kentucky for all the beautiful backgrounds!

Claire is talking more and more everyday. She loves to say, "what's that?", "Come on Mom," "Cosco (Costco)," and "Ah Man! (from dora)". She sings all the time and loves to push her babies or any other toy in the strollers.

More pictures to come from Thanksgiving and just life in general. You'll probably have to wait a few weeks unless I get an itch to blog.... but probably not. :)

Caught up and busy as ever

Claire turned 2!!!!

Claire is learning so many new words! It was like ever since she turned two, she repeats everything! She now knows "Hey Dude." It is so cute. Seth got it on video. The other days her little pumpkin fell out of her arms and starting rolling away. I heard this little, "Woah, woah, woah punkin." Then she picked it up and said, "shh, shh, shh." It was so cute!

She also sings and hums all the time. We hum to her at night. I have done it since she was a baby. She is actually starting to get the tune now. So smart! She also likes to say, "Daddy, daddy, daddy" while shaking her head back and forth.

Another funny thing she did was help me fold the laundry, patted her leg like she wanted me to put the warm clothes on her... then proceeded to say, "Nice." with a huge smile. :) Where do kids come up with this! She is the funniest girl. I know a lot of these are about Claire, but I don't want to forget these moments!

She loves to play. Always taking things and putting them in her purse. Then taking something over to the other side of the room. Busy is the word I put for her... and loves to clean up..... no idea where she gets that from. :) The video wouldn't upload... sorry!

We kept asking Claire how old she was going to be and she had it down... two and how old she was then... one. Then once she turned two.... all she did was say one. So to get her to tell us her age, we taught her to say, "Two, two two!"

Falling into September

Once we got home from Idaho, we had a back to the 502 party. It was so nice to hang out with all of our friends and catch up. We bbq'd and just ran around with the kids.

I finally took all the raspberries that I had and made my jam. I made plain raspberry and also raspberry-peach. It was A LOT of work and I made WAY more than I thought I was going to. But my friends weren't sad about that and they wont' be at Christmas time either. :)

Always eating. This is probably the last time she was eaten in her seat. She loves to sit at her princess table or our table now to eat with us. Whenever she wants you to sit with her (breakfast or dinner) she pats the chair and says "sit."

My friend Megan watched Claire one morning and look what she did!!!! I didn't even know Claire's hair was long enough to do this! So cute!

Claire loves spending any free time with her daddy. Sundays are really our favorite day of the week!
Her new favorite place to read her books. Silly girl. She loves to read to herself and just loves books in general. Makes me happy!

Whenever we say anything about Dad or the motorcycle, you can always guarantee you to hear a "vroomm vrooommm" with much aggression from Claire. She also loves to sit on it and pretend she is riding it.
Loves her "beep beep." She hasn't quite gotten the hang of sitting and moving her feet. She is just short enough to stand up and walk her car around. She is always putting things in the trunk of it and makes sure she has her purse. Whenever we can't find something.... we check the car first.

We are also trying to teach her the abc's and to count from 1 to 10. She is getting the hang of it but no memorization yet. She does say 6 after i count to five. So she is learning slowly. We sing a lot of them in the car. She still loves to dance and sing. I got a microphone at the dollar section of target and she just goes to town on it! I haven't gotten a video of her yet but sometime when she has no idea I will.

Onto August

As a gift to Paul and Shay we went white water rafting. It was so fun!!! Let's just say, I am not good at riding the bull at the front of the boat. I had one hit and I was down. :) Saydie thought it was sure funny! Love spending time with my siblings!

Claire loved playing at her Grandma and Grandpa's house. She jumped on the tramp, played with the soccer ball, swang a lot, and loved laying in the hammock. She loves being at her "Bakka's". We have no idea how she got that name for Grandma but she said it once and that is what it is. She was always on an adventure to find rocks for everyone. We will miss spending time at G & G's house when we visit. Guess if we want to jump on that tramp we are headed to the Montanos house. :)

Hello Farmer's Market! This is one of my all time fav things to do at home on Saturday mornings. Get a GREAT breakfast and enjoy walking around.

We got to go to Sheri's triathalon! She has worked so hard getting ready and it was a lot of fun getting to cheer her on! Good job Sheri! We were so proud of you that night!!!!

Claire also loved to go to the pantry and find anything to munch on. I swear we really do feed our kid, she just loves to eat! If we didnt' know where she was.... just went to the pantry.

Albany and Claire got to enjoy the pool together too. Many Grammy days with those two trouble makers. :)

Daddy finally made it to Idaho for a much needed break! We spent much time on that swing and laughing at the things Claire did. She ate corn on the cob for the first time like a champ. While we were there... she started to get all of her canine teeth too! It wasn't to much fun dealing with the teething but oh well.

We had to make sure and get pictures with Seth's family because his parents are leaving on a mission (or as of right now, are on their mission) to Africa! We missed having Matthew in the pictures. We spent much time with Seth's family and loved every minute! I even got to take Emmaly's seniors pics! What a gorgeous niece I have!

Loved helping Grammy water her garden everyday. Like I said in the July post... loved being without her diaper.

It was time for another Harley trip. This time, we wives got to tag along.... with comfort of course. We got to the Harley shop nice and early, got our sweet bikes, helmets and lot of pictures. Don't worry - my mother in law was "tatted" out and was ready to rock and roll. She gave us a good laugh. We drove all day and went the back way up to McCall. It was such a beautiful ride. We stopped many times for breaks and just to enjoy the views. We ate at My Father's Place for dinner. Thanks for the memories and such a fun ride. Hope we get to do this more!

Here's July in a nut shell

We got to celebrate our 4th of July with many friends from the dental school before we left for our Idaho retreat. It was a gorgeous day and was so fun to spend it with friends.

Claire loved to wander off and see how far she could get without us running after her

We headed to Idaho for about 5 weeks! Seth had to come a week later than me because of tests. We got to go to Papa's concert in the park. Claire wore her very first pony tail!

The main reason we got to head home was for my little brother's wedding! It was so beautiful and amazing. The dinner the night before was held at my parents house and boy was it windy. The balloons were sure fun to deal with but blew away beautifully at the end. :)

The wedding day was hot but so pretty. They were married in the Boise Temple the last Saturday possible before it closed. Paul looked handsome and Shalyn was stunning. She did have a little trip coming out of the temple but did it gracefully and gave us all a good laugh. We are so happy to have her in the family and just love her already.

The reception was a carnival theme! Shay's family and Paul put A LOT of work into and it really paid off. Every detail was done and it was such a fun atmosphere. I was sad Seth couldn't be there with us but school has to get done. It was a blast getting to see lots of old friends and family members. Claire loves her Aunt Shay and Uncle Paul. She mentions them quite frequently even now and every time she sees their picture on the fridge.

The summer wouldn't be complete without the sunshine, backyard and pool time. Claire was in the water everyday and usually only had a diaper on or somedays, Grammy would just let her run all naked... which I think she enjoyed the most. We love the outside and totally took advantage of the pool there. We also got to spend much time with our families. We miss seeing them all the time. Claire really loved being with her cousins and getting to play with them often. She would just jabber to Macey all the time. Which I loved. I don't have a picture of it, but we got to also see my cousin and her daughters from Singapore. They drove through and it was so nice to see the girls and how much they have changed.

Month of June

As usual.... we are busy. We are off enjoying summer! In just a few days we are off to do the big move to our rental house. Once we are moved in, I will get pictures up. It's a mess right now. I have been cleaning tons and just preparing the house for us to get in there. I am ocd when it comes to cleaning and having things in their place. :) Surprised?

I realized during this move though that, ONE: I am so good at moving now. TWO: It's sad that I am so good at moving. THREE: I could totally be a tetris freak from packing boxes... yes, I am that good. FOUR: I don't mind the two weeks before you move... I hate the two days before you move. FIVE: Sad, that I had all these realizations in one paragraph.

Seth's summer schedule is so much easier this summer. We have been spoiled having him around. We are fully taking advantage of the water park at the Y. I LOVE it. Claire loves the slides and all the splashing water. This is why I am so grateful I work at the Y and am able to get us in for free. I am still teaching there and loving it. Still trying to lose that last 5 pounds of mine that seems to all sit in my stomach area. Blah.

We leave in two weeks for Idaho! I will be there 40 days! Woo hoo! Can't wait for Paul to get married too! Lots to do and see.

Claire is busy busy busy. She has learned to say box lately. I wonder why... :) She is also answering me a lot more. When I ask if she wants more or something else she says yeah or Nah (more of her no). I love to watch what she finds and plays with too. Such a curious little girl.

And as you can see from the pictures, she has many faces and loves cereal. So much that she decided to dump it out all over (I literally turned my back for 30 seconds...)

We went to a free night at the downs. Claire LOVED the horses. She was seriously getting so excited when the races were happening. Clapping, screaming and staring! I just happened to have my camera too! Phew!

I made some sombrero cookies for our church activity for the Fiesta night. Turned out pretty cute.

Calypso Cove is where we spend a lot of time now. Switched over from the zoo, I guess. As you can see there is much to do and see and Claire loves every minute of it. The Y's out here are so great. Seth got to come on our first day there. We got Claire some water shoes so she can walk better in the water too.

When I go and work out, Claire goes to the sunshine room. I guess she LOVES the baby area. She will go up and get in the swings, shut the leg thing and push herself. Sometimes for 20 minutes. She has also been loving the baby bouncer. One of them moves, so she gets in it, stands up and holds it up with her arms and brings it over to where the babies are and talks to them. I tried putting in ours at home one day, and she was only interested for about 2 seconds. Weirdo kid of mine. :)

Seth also caught her climbing into the high chair. As you can see, we have a monkey, and she likes to eat... A LOT.

A whole month has flown by!

A whole month has gone by! We have been so busy too! We have about 3 more weeks until we move into our new rental house. We are so excited about it! There is a huge fenced in back yard and a deck too!

We go home in about a month for my brother's wedding, family time, swimming and hanging out.

There is a babysitting group that we just joined also. We had a blast this past weekend and can't wait to continue this group. We have such wonderful friends.

Claire is everywhere... literally. Crawling up on the chairs, to the table... trying to climb on the bed. She likes to crawl and sit on the toilet seat too when it is closed. She runs everywhere and never stops. I love bedtime. Enough said.

She is saying every word... or saying it in her version. We are teaching her the body parts and their names. She seems to get the idea. I went to pick her out of the car the other day and she pointed to my eye and said "Eeeeye." So smart! As of now she is saying (somewhat well too)

So many things! She loves to read books, likes to push the grocery cart and is pretty fast too! She hates having to get in it now unless she is standing.

Claire loves her blanket too. She always grabs it, puts her head cuddled up to it and says ahhhh.

I love my sweet girl and how much is she growing and developing.

Seth is quite busy with school even for the summer. We do love his downtime though. We have been bbqing a lot, going on walks, just went to the pool yesterday for the first time. We really got hit with this summer weather. One week it was cold and the heater was on and then bam! Here is 90 degrees for you and full humidity.

I am still working at the YMCA. Love it and go work out often when I am not teaching. It is great for Claire to socialize.

Here are some of the happenings that have been going on too this past month.

The Gong Show. It is where each dental class makes a movie and we go and watch. Our class was probably the classiest and cleanest.

A friend of ours put together a group to go out and celebrate the boys being 2nd year dental school students now! We had dessert at their house

Seth had a week off. So we took advantage and went up to Cincinnati for the break. We ate at the brazilian bbq place and went to some fun shops. We stayed the night there. The bathroom was Claire's "room" for the night. She decided to unroll a new roll of toilet paper. She was laughing so hard.

There are some great parks around here. Since Claire loves the ducks we decided to go and feed them. She had no fear at all! I on the other hand thought the geese were out for my blood.

Seth got me a basil plant for Mother's day! I was stoked!

Derby! Derby! Derby! We went to our friends house for a derby party to watch the most exciting 2 minutes in sports. I made mint juleps (non-alcoholic) and they were so good! We had a blast making our "bets." Thanks Clowards for putting it on!

Girls night! We had a bunch of gals get together for cheesecake! What a better way to spend time with friends and saying some goodbyes!

Just call us rednecks. We got some free tickets to the Indy 500. It was hot, smelly and surrounded with drunk people. We loved it. Our friends the Stevens went with us and we couldn't have had better company. The time actually went pretty quickly and our skin got friend.

We have a beautiful view from our windows and get to see the cardinals flying all the time. Seth got this great picture.

Playing catch up

Always trying to catch up on this blog! We have had a busy month so far. Seth's parents were in town and we had a blast with them for two weeks. They got to see lots of big storms here. We went to the mega caverns one day with them. Then they surprised us and got us a bbq for easter! Seth got it home by rolling it down the street with his skateboard (him on it and pulling the bbq) from home depot. I died laughing!

We celebrated our 4 year anniversary on April 7th. I can't believe how fast time has gone. I surprised him and we went to Buca di Beppo. We even sat at the chef's table in the kitchen. Then we went and got dessert and enjoyed a night resting and watching movies at a hotel. G & G Lookhart watched Claire for us. I love Seth so much and just love our life and family we have created. So grateful for him!

I had some of the first year dental wives over for a cupcake decorating and brunch. We sat around and talked and enjoyed watching the kids make their cupcakes. Don't worry - we ate plenty with them. It was a great opportunity to get to know these girls more and have the kids together.

I made some easter decorations this year. I realized that I didn't have any! So I made this "peeps" banner that I saw on a blog. Took some work but loved it. I also got a wire basket and painted it and had eggs in it. Deleted the picture.... doh!

Life is good right now. We have had so many storms lately and a lot of tornado warnings! Kind of scary. We are getting closer to moving out of our apartment and into the house we are renting. I can't wait! Claire and my allergies are at an all time high right now so hopefully we pass this hard part soon.

Seth is almost done with his first year of school! What? I feel like we just moved here! Derby is next weekend and we are stoked for it! We might go out of town for his break though and miss derby. We have 3 more years to see it though.

Claire is growing so fast. She runs everywhere. She says tons of animal sounds. Climbs on all the chairs and tables in the house. She wants to sit at the table now. We are teaching her where her eyes, nose and mouth are. She says Mom a lot more now! She loves grapes and always wants to get her own milk out of the fridge... and she is a jabber! Never stops and always says "mmm hhhh" or "hmmmmmmm" to answer. I love this little girl.

So I think we are all caught up now!

Trip to Idaho

I was able to go home a week ago to Idaho. Thanks again to my dad!!! Claire and I loved being there, even though we missed Seth terribly!

We got to see all the family, eat lots of food, be taken care of and lots of sleep! Claire loved being outside and running around my parents yard. I loved it even more cause she slept so wonderfully.

I was fortunate enough to set up a lot of photography sessions while I was there. I feel so blessed everyday to do what I do and use my camera. Really is a true passion of mine.

We had all types of weather while we were there and took it in strides. Thank to my family who watched Claire so much so I could have free time, sleep time and recovery time from the sickness I caught there. We hope to come again for our break in the summer and can't wait!!!!

Spring Break, Florida Style

We have never had an official spring break while being married. BYU-I didn't have one. So this was so much fun. We went with 2 other families in our ward and rented a beach house down in Destin, Florida. Great weather and not to many "spring breakers." The beach was close. We rented bikes to get us around (and loved!). We went to the pool everyday and ate a lot of food! By the end of the day, we were ready to put on aloe vera and fall asleep immediately!

Dolphins are a big thing down in this part of Florida. We went on a dolphin cruise with some friends and got to see a lot of dolphins for about an hour. There was even one that was 2 weeks old! So little!

Along with the dolphin theme, Seth and Claire watched as I got to swim with a dolphin. I have always wanted to do this and there was a perfect opportunity. It was at Gulf World. Her name was Indie and she was awesome! I was a little scared but it was an incredible experience. Dolphins are so strong too! When I was holding onto the fin - she just went right along. There were many more animals and shows to see while we were there too.

We had such a fun time with our friends and can't wait to go again next year. Claire loved the beach so much and did great with the ocean and sand - can't wait to see her play next year!

A day in the life of Claire

Start out with finding random stuff in the house and bring it over to Dad's side of the bed and put it in a cupboard (this is nothing compared to what is usually there)

Then sit with Mom and climb on something

Next - find a hat and wear it all day after my nap and don't remind Mom to put my pants back on. Stand at the window and look at the kids playing

Last have a great meal and laugh the whole time and dance while flapping my arm!

The big 2-6

One year older and wiser too (and closer to 30...eek!). Yes, my birthday came and went so fast. It didn't really feel like my birthday either. Kind of a weird feeling.

Seth surprised me by taking our family out to breakfast and Lynn's paradise cafe. It has been on food network many times and Bobby Flay from Throw down has been there twice! It was AMAZING! The food was so big (see pic below) but worth every penny. The service and atmosphere was incredible. I can't wait to show family this place.

We then went home and opened presents. Thank you to all for your gifts! Love them all! Seth got me a kindle. I was so surprised but so excited. We have loaded many books onto it already and love how easy it is to use and get books on there.

We then met up with a ton of our friends for dinner. So many people and Red Robin was so great to accommodate us. I am so sorry to friends that didn't stay. They should have saved 2 more tables! I felt horrible! After dinner, we came to our house for cake and ice cream. Thank you to Heather for my beautiful and delicious ice cream cake. Mmmmm I want more right now!

It was a great day and I feel so loved by friends and family. I am such a lucky girl to have such great friends and family who loves me! What more could anyone want for their birthday!?

Life lately

I am a blogging slacker. There, I said it and I'm proud of it! :)

We have been so busy with life lately, I just forget to update this thing! We had a great month of February with friends visiting(and looking for housing!!!!) and getting ready for March. We attended our friends birthday party and ate the best mexican food ever! We also went to our friend, Lindsey Cardall's, birthday party at CPK. Loved the food and the company there.

Valentine's day came and we just took it easy and celebrated simply because we wanted to have more things to do for our anniversary. I got Seth and I a HUGE, yummy carmel apple from a girl that does them here. We made Valentine's for Claire's friends and passed them out.

Claire is into EVERYTHING and loves it. She is such a curious little girl. She loves anything electronic and always wants your phone. She has gotten pretty good at using our phones.

She is also getting so good at using her hands to color or draw. She always wants your pencil to draw on a paper. She is also getting good at using a spoon. We have been working on holding it and putting in her mouth. She doesn't really know how to scoop the food up yet though. She gets so angry when I take it to scoop her food. Patience child... patience!

She tries to say any word you ask her too. She also knows how to do and recognizes, bird (tweet), dog (woof or hahahaha for panting), and elephant (does with her lips the sound)

She loves cheese and holding her food to take big bites. She loves to eat carrots which is fine with me! I can't believe how quickly she picks up on things. She waves bye and hello to everyone and blows kisses too. I laugh everyday. She still loves music and dancing.

We have had a lot of problems with the allergies in this area though. Claire and I are both on medicine and it seems to be helping. Though some days she is still coughing and struggling. We also need to get to an allergist because she is getting hives from certain foods. Haven't figured out exactly what yet though. They don't seem to bother her, but worries me to death.

Spring is on it's way here. We took advantage of all the good weather we randomly had in February and went for walks and even flew kites. There is a hidden park not to far from our house and we went over there one night. Claire loves to swing and had a blast there.

As for March, I turned 26 (eek!) and can't believe that I am closer to 30 then I am to 20. Weird feeling. I got to celebrate with many friends as we crowded into Red Robin. After that we went to our house for cake. I will post pictures and more on that later when I put them on the computer.

Seth is doing well in school and is excited for spring break (and so am I!) We are headed to Destin, Florida next week and will be swimming with dolphins, riding bikes on the beach and searching out the town for all the fun, local places there.

Spring is coming and the warm weather! Everything is getting green from all the rain too. We went to the zoo a few weeks ago and can't wait to go more as it gets warmer. Life is good!

Just filling in the time

I have always loved crafts, decorating and what not. Being a tight budget (student budget) I have had to get really creative with things or put them on a long list of "someday crafts."

When my sewing machine likes me, we make wonderful things. Mind you, they are not always perfect but if you don't look closely at things, they turn out great. :) I made a shower gift too. I love making these diaper and wipes cases. They are not only cute but keep your diapers in much better shape in your diaper bag!

I made this Valentine garland for this upcoming holiday. Saw it on a blog but they did it with fabric and I had a lot of Valentine's paper... so I changed it a big. Loved how it turned out though. I have one more Valentine's project and it's been sitting in my closet for a month cause I am a baby and don't want to spray paint in the cold. So hopefully, this weekend it will get done.

I also this this Christmas craft after the holidays when things were really cheap. I saw them at my sister-in-law's house and fell in love. I want to change the wood a little big though. Didn't turn out how I wanted. I would love to do this for Halloween too!

Now that I loaded the videos and our internet is actually working again - time to upload the pictures from the last month. We have been busy in just getting back into the swing of things since getting home. I am actually sewing a lot more (when I can get my machine to cooperate) and doing more pictures. Lots of babies being born! Yee!!! They are so sweet.

Claire and I have been sick with whatever has been going around. Thankfully, Seth hasn't gotten sick at all. There is a big epidemic of a cold going around. I didn't think Claire was going to get it until last week. Lots of looooooonnnnnngggggg nights with her but now she is just coughing. Which is still so sad. We are on the uphill of feeling better though.

Seth is doing great in school. I can't believe that we are almost done with his first year. Time really is flying by so quickly. We were able to get up to Cincinnati a few weeks ago. I love having all of these large cities so close by. Lots of great shopping up there. :) There is a place called Jungle Jims. It is a foreign food store. It's the size of costco and has food from all around the world. We got some really fun things. I even got some orangina. Memories of Paris all over again!

I am still teaching at the YMCA. I took on a class called drumline. It's a family class and we beat on the big workout balls with drumsticks. It teaches the kids music and keeping the beat while getting them moving. Claire still loves going to the Sunshine room there and playing.

Claire is learning so much. She is starting to say more words (or just sounds). She does a dog sound whenever she sees a dog still. And today I discovered that in her video from the bath (below) she says "Lola" and I just thought it was something cute until now. It's "Laura". I was showing her pictures of her Aunt Lori and she kept saying it! Guess she is paying attention when we show her pictures of the family everyday.

She says "Dora." It's her yogurt that I give her every morning and now she knows who she is from the book we have. She only says "mama" when she is upset and crying (mainly late at night... a joy for me.....) She is still folding her arms whenever we ask and won't touch her food until we say a prayer. Smart little cookie she is.

Life is good for us here and time is flying. I'm coming home at the end of March and can't wait! My sister is coming out here the week before that too! Yeah for seeing family. We also had our brother-in-law here a few weeks ago for the weekend. He was working up state but was able to come here. We loved having you Troy and hope you get to come back soon!

I have been trying to remember to video more. Somedays we just plain forget! :)

Claire is still saying "seth" and "dada". I try to teach her dad instead though. Whenever she is wondering where he is or if he is home she yells for him. This time she was in the bath and dad needed to be in the bathroom when she was.

Claire is starting to say more words lately. She has started saying "Uh-oh" this week. Any time she drops something or falls... she says it. It's so cute! She even said "All done" the other day.

Along with saying more words she taught herself how to fold her arms. This started in the beginning part of the month. We folded our arms and she did it too. It's amazing to me how kids just catch on so quickly to things!

Bath time is still a fun time in our house. She loves to get out now and be changed on our bed. She thinks it is funny to climb all over the bed and my pillows. Luckily, she hasn't peed on them yet. :) Just a little jay bird we have. Claire also loves to be tickled and loves to laugh a lot.

Project Time: I love my crafts and projects. Sometimes I have to many to finish but eventually I get them done. I made this Christmas pot (saw on a blog) and had fun making it. It's just a formula canister! Cool huh?

We had a ugly sweater Christmas party few days before we left. We don't have a very big apartment so space was limited but it was sure fun to have everyone there. There were some great sweaters!

We have a cheese ball on our hands. She loves to smile when she wants to for the camera... but when she does, boy is it cute!

Our stake does this nativity, I think they call it a Chresh (sp?). They have a live nativity and then in rooms of the church and the gym, they have many many nativity sets. They have them in different categories and even a craft room for the kids. It was pretty amazing.

Off we went to Idaho for our Christmas break! It was awesome! Saw lots of friends and all the family. It was a nice break for everyone (especially me with all those babysitters to watch Claire). We ate a lot, laughed a lot, played games and slept! Big changes in Claire during that break. She practically started running, jabbering a lot more, says Grandma (more like sama) and now is all sippy cup... no more bottle! Yeah!!!!!

We got to go to Tucanos with the Montanos for their anniversary and then saw Secretariat. It is a great movie!

Had a girls night with the Snow, Norman and Blaisdell gals. It was so fun to have everyone there! We went to Costa Vita!

Seth's friends are really good about getting together when people come to town. We headed over to the Brigg's house for lunch and some catch up. So great to see everyone!

Oh Christmas morning was fun. Claire was into everything and loved watching everyone. We were at my parents house for the morning and then headed to the Lookharts that afternoon. We were spoiled! Thanks everyone!

Christmas Eve was fun at both houses. First year we have had it at Mom and Dad Lookharts! Crazy! Missed you Jakobsons!

Claire's hair is always crazy. I decided to comb once and give up the rest of the day with that curly hair girl!

My mom got The Rockettes tickets for all the girls! We had so much fun! I have always wanted to see them in person and it was amazing. Thanks Mom!!!!

The day before we left we did some last minute pictures for my mom so she could get her card out for the new year. Lots of laughs and weird poses from my brothers! :)

We finally made it home and got life going again. It was such a great break and we loved seeing everyone. I miss being a drive away! Claire loves the head phones now with dad... any music she still dances.

We have had some beautiful snow lately. I can't believe how cold it got and how fast. We woke up last Saturday to brand new fallen snow and decided Claire needed to enjoy her breakfast looking at it. She was mesmerized. We have quite a few in our apartment. The majority of our windows look out to trees and a huge field. Most of the other apartment look at the parking lot. Lucky us!

I finally gave in.... I let her eat spaghetti all by herself. I just didn't want to deal with the mess. She LOVED it. At first she was hesitant to even pick it up cause it was slippery in her hand (what have I done to my child... I know). We got plenty of pictures and a video of it though!

We have got a walking girl in the house! She will just stand up in the middle of the room and get going. LOVE IT! I can't believe the difference in her walking ability even in just a week. She still falls from time to time when she gets going fast but none the less she is going! Of course she still has to dance when there is ANY music on.... even when she is in the middle of walking. What a happy girl we have!

She is also jabbering all the time. I will go in to get her from her nap or waking up in the morning and she just jabbers. She also says "ba" for milk. And "Set" for Seth. She usually does this when she is looking for him or wondering where he is in the house (especially during nap time). We try and get her to say da da instead though. Which she does say very well a lot too. Mama is coming and going.

Because I am a slacker and just didn't want to blog for awhile.... here is a long large post! (Many videos of Claire walking and eating spaghetti to come) She is doing so great and is walking basically everywhere... yeah!

We went to the Muhammad Ali museum here in Louisville. It was amazing and I learned so much. He was a very cocky kid though! Lots to read and see. We even went and saw his actual rolls royce that he drove. Beautiful car. We were hoping he would be there but he comes in January for his birthday - so we will probably go then again.

Off to Lexington! We were excited to explore there. I fell in love with the city immediately. Oh and all the horses! We went to the Kentucky Horse Park. We will go again in the spring and go the the breeders farm! My mom was in town and was in heaven. While we are on the subject of my mom - she came in November and just in time. We were very sick in this house and I caught it too... so it was nice to have my mom here. Claire got her first ear infection and it was horrible. We didn't know why she was throwing up over and over (in the middle of the night mind you). But we are much better now and loved having my mom here.

Thanksgiving was a blast. We were with good friends and had a wonderful meal. The white elephant game brought many laughs and I was very thankful for everything in my life right now.

Thanksgiving came and went so quickly. We went to our friends house, the Cloward's. It was so nice to be around friends and enjoy the day. We got our Christmas tree (small because we are only going to have it for a few weeks before we go home to Idaho). Claire loves staring at it and her new ornament for this year.

We decorated our gingerbread house. Tradition every Thanksgiving in the Lookhart home. Thanks Mom and Dad Lookhart for sending us the stuff!!!

I decided to just do one big post of the videos because I am a slacker in my blogging! Claire is SOOOOOO close to just walking everywhere. She gets brave and starts walking and then tries to hurry and falls down. I think by Christmas she will be totally a walking girl! We got her taking a few steps. Update on this video: She was in her room then walked all the way down the hall to me! Where was my camera!? It was at least 16 steps!

Not only does she blow you kisses (with her hands in a fist, it's almost like her thank you sign) she now gives you big kisses and some open slobbery ones too! I died laughing the first time. She laughs when you laugh and wants to give more kisses until something else is more fascinating. Oh! She also loves to be in on the conversation. If Seth and I are laughing and talking - she will start laughing right along with us and look back and forth at us and jabber and then laugh and laugh with us. Sometimes she'll just be across the room and crawl over just to be in the conversation. I LOVE IT!

What a happy girl we have! She has a few laughs that I just adore. Sometimes it's a full on laugh and sometimes it is a squeal or something like a dinosaur. So we got a little bit on video for you.

Rocka Rocka

Claire got a rocking chair for her birthday. She finally braved sitting on it about 2 weeks ago. She loves it and rocks all by herself! She also turns around and holds onto the arm rests and slides off. It is awesome! So here she is... rocka rocka!

Finally the Halloween post. I have the pictures on my desktop that I want to add to this but honestly.... I didn't want to sit down and actually add them... I'm tired and lazy I guess. But alas... here they are.

We had a fun Halloween. Last year, Claire was to small to even go outside in the bitter cold of Rexburg for Halloween so this was her first costume. She was a Louisville Cardinal. We thought it only appropriate. :) Our friends threw a party at their house and we went as Wednesday Adams and Pugsly Adams. It was a fun party and I took pictures of all the couples in our make shift photo booth. I also made these witches hairy fingers (breadsticks) for the party! Pretty cool huh?

Then a week later, we did the trunk or treat at the church. I had tons of candy to hand out (thank you coupons!). So it was so fun to see everyone dressed up. I wanted to change it up a bit.... so I dressed as a witch instead. It was a fun holiday and we will be having more adventures this weekend - will post eventually! Ha!

Twist Again

Claire loves music. Anytime there is music of any sort... she dances in her own Claire way. She has this new bobbing thing with her legs and body and I finally got in on video. This is very subdue to what it usually is though. I don't know... maybe it's a clue to what she will like in the future (dancing and music). Either way.... it makes me laugh and smile every time.

Life is crazy here in Kentucky. We have had beautiful weather lately. I have never had it above 75 degrees in October and a few days ago it was almost 80 degrees! What? The leaves are finally changing color it's just beautiful here.

I am now an employee at the YMCA. It's a great branch with a wonderful daycare area that Claire loves. I was very hesitant at first to take her there... but she did great! I am teaching two classes there. Cardio and strength mixtures. I am a little nervous.... ok really nervous about it. I think after teaching a few times though, I will get more used to it. I mostly did it so I could have a Y membership and get to workout more than once a week. Bye bye baby weight!

We are also now all whole milk for Claire in this household. It was bittersweet for me to stop nursing. But I love the freedom! The pain from stopping isn't very fun but oh well. All part of being a mom. I was glad that I was able to do it for a year and stick with it. It was hard at times but well worth it. AND!!!!! She is actually laying in our arms and drinking more than like an ounce of milk from her sippy cup! It used to be drink a little and lose interest and then come back about 5 minutes later and drink some more..... she wasn't getting very much. But today alone, she laid in my arms and drank 4 oz. each time! Didn't even move a muscle! All that hard work to get her used to the bottle and sippy cup these past few months were worth it! She is doing better at the night feeding too. I thought it was going to be horrible.... nope! Answered prayers for sure!

Halloween is coming up. We went to our friends house for their party (pictures to come... card reader broke and can't put them on the computer). It was a blast to see everyone's fun costumes. We have a trunk-or-treat this Friday too and a door decorating contest for our apartment. I am determined to win! Will post pictures of that too!

My Old Kentucky Home

Yesterday we actually had time to see some of Kentucky. After much debate we decided to head to Bardstown, Kentucky. The drive was beautiful and this was just a small southern town. They have My Old Kentucky Home Park there. It was this beautiful, huge home that some big family had lived (can't remember the names!). But the man who wrote "My Old Kentucky Home" visited there once and wrote the song. It was an amazing home and the slave garden had someone that was born in 1795! So crazy!

We ate at this place called Kurtz. It was an old home made into a restaurant owned by these old southern women. It was Kentucky food and was just wonderful with the best chocolate pie I have had!

We can't wait to get to Lexington sometime soon to see the horse farms!

Finally getting to Claire's party. It was a great night. Lots of preparation but totally worth it. Thanks to everyone who came. We just wanted a small simple party and it was just perfect. We had pizza and way to much "pink" candy. I did an orange and pink theme for the party. We sang to Claire and she wasn't quite sure what to think of her cake. She didn't really like having it on her hands. She got a lot of great and fun gifts! Thanks again to everyone!

I can't believe that she is one! Where has this year gone? Oh I remember.... lots of fun moments, laughter, sleepless nights, nursing, playing, crying (on both ends), traveling, and many many "firsts" for Claire.

She is our sweet darling and we love her so much... even as she is screaming in her bed right now. She has brought so much joy to our life and so many cute pictures too.

We did some photo shoots of her and it was so much more work now that she moves everywhere! But I loved every minute. With some help from Lil Luna blog, I was able to make her hat and with a yummy cupcake place down the road... she had her first cupcake. So here she is.... our one year old girl!

We also went to a farmer's market this weekend. Such beautiful (cool) weather. Just felt like a fall morning. We had scones and walked around. There were tons of fresh flowers and vegetables to buy. There are these markets all over and I can't wait to explore them more. After the market we went for a long drive that was about half way to Lexington. Just out in the country. It was beautiful and so open. Nice to get out of the city for a few hours!

That's right. Seth has braces! He got them last week and his orthodontic is in our ward. Pretty handy huh? They said it should only be about a year. I think he is getting used to them now but just another exciting chapter in our house.

Fall Festival

Our stake puts on a fall festival every year. The weather didn't feel like fall but the activity was still awesome. They had dinner and lots of different booths for you to play. Even a dunk tank (which I almost jumped in because it was so warm!) I took my few turns around the cake walk and had a delicious cupcake for my prize. We are loving it here in Louisville and love our ward. I have met so many wonderful people and am so grateful for where we are.

Crawling out of her pants

Claire has finally started crawling everywhere on her knees. I guess it is faster to her now. But as you know... she is a petite little thing and her pants just never fit her right. I even bought elastic waist band pants that were a size smaller than what she is wearing. Still have to fold the bottoms and the waist is still to big.

I really didn't think to much of this until she came around the corner with her pants almost coming off of her. Needless to say, camera out and lots of laughs. She just kept going though...

I found this toy at a garage sale this summer and who knew that she would be obsessed with it! At first she just touched it and played. Then she moved onto crawling with it and falling a lot. So I got a video of that. She now pulls herself up and walks with it too! (no video of that yet) She also goes all over the house. I found her in the bathroom the other day. She looked at me as if she was caught doing something wrong. It was hilarious. Where has the time gone? How is she already walking? I swear I just brought her home from the hospital yesterday!

I haven't been taking a lot of pictures lately. Just to much to do but lots of videos! So a update finally. We went to the zoo yesterday (which is awesome) and my friend took pictures and I will get those up when I get them from her.

Doing a little crawling on the knees now... loves to climb all over me and anything else. She is saying "da da" now and is always talking jibberish and discovering her voice.

We discovered that Claire loves Bob Marley... when "Jammin" comes on she bobs her head. She only does this front to back bob with this song. Don't get me wrong... she still dances and shakes her head to all music... but this was just awesome to watch.

Claire is a busy busy girl. She doesn't like to sit still and is just as curious as ever. She amazes me everyday with what she is learning and how she is developing. I laugh everyday from her and let me just say... her laugh is the sweetest thing I have ever heard.

Operation Make my Home Pretty.... Or try to at least

Here was a quick project my father-in-law helped me with (well he really did a lot of the putting together work!). We have a fireplace but no mantel. I was very sad about this. So my friend Heather suggested we just do a simple box type. Clean lines and easy to make. Clyde and I got the wood and had them cut it for us... he put it together and I painted it. Then it was up on the wall within like 24 hours of starting! I love fast projects!!!!

Long awaited post!!!!

Here it is Kathryn! Bahahahaha! I finally sat down and did this. I knew there was so much to post that I didn't want to do it. But here it is! I have been in Louisville now for 2 weeks and Seth has been living here since July. We have a few boxes still to unpack but it is coming. Once everything is done and put up... I will do a video for you of how it looks.

We love it here. We love being together as a family again too! 5 weeks is to long. Even though we miss everyone in Idaho sooooo much! Our apartment is great. We are in a great location. All I have to say is.... GPS. I wouldn't be anywhere without it. I bet I would have been in Florida by now without it. People are crazy drivers here. They don't use their signals and run red lights, but the people are great! The southern hospitality treatment.

Our ward is fun too. Everyone is very involved and welcoming. They all knew who I was. I think they thought I really didn't exist. That has helped a ton having such nice people to welcome us.

Seth's parents are still here and we are so happy to have them. It has been fun to explore with them and they have helped SO much getting things put up and watching Claire so I could unpack. Phew! We are sad that they are leaving us tomorrow. I hope they enjoyed their traveling time too!

Classes are going well for Seth. He is busy busy but gets home on Wednesdays early which is fun for us. We went to the indoor pool the other day for like 20 minutes. I was a wimp and couldn't take the cold water. Claire still loves the water! There is even a raquetball court here that Seth goes to at the clubhouse with one of the guys from his class.

We also went to the derby museum last Saturday. It was AWESOME. Anyone who comes to visit must go there. I learned so much more about it. We even got to go to Million Dollar Row. Any other race day besides the Kentucky Derby, you can sit up there and have lunch for $20! Crazy!

We have crazy rainstorms here. I have a video of it below. It is nuts how much it rains when it does. It is so green here and beautiful! The humidity kills me somedays but I love how good it is for my skin.

Seth had his white coat ceremony last night. It was awesome and thank goodness it stopped raining! The thunder and lightning was crazy yesterday I guess (I slept through it). It lit up our room I guess a bunch. The ceremony went quickly and we celebrated with Cheesecake Factory. Congrats to Student-Doctor Lookhart!

We are missing family but excited that life is starting here. I can't think of anything else to write right now. So I'll get better about blogging family! I promise!!!

Back in Idaho!

Paul got home!!!!!!

This is what the couch looked like when they unloaded it. Well... this is after they put cleaners on it to get oil out. Seth never told me about it til I got here and they fixed it. I think I would have died had I known!

This is a rain storm. Since I have been here... they have been happening like once a week.

So nice and no one really has sprinklers here because of the rain and the humidity too.

Phew! Are you as exhausted as I am now? I will now try to keep it up regularly!

It's been hard having Seth gone these past few weeks, but we have been trying to keep ourselves busy so we aren't sad.

Claire is LOVING the pool! She is relaxed and always kicking her legs! She even did well on her back which is unusual for kids this age!

She is also a fan of music we have decided. Any time... and I mean anytime music comes on, she is shaking her head and then sometimes her hands get in on the action too! It is just darling!

Claire is getting closer and closer to crawling. She goes forward now by pushing with her feet. Sometimes she will even get on her knees and just about go forward. Time to get the gates out! I have it on video on my phone.... but since it is new, I have no idea how to get it to the blog from there. Seth will have to help me! We also tried meats yesterday... didn't go so well. She threw up after two bites. Totally calm about it... I don't blame her though, they smelled soooo bad! So we will give it another week.

Our apartment is picked out in Louisville. I think we will be very happy there and I am just excited not to move for 4 whole years! I can't actually throw boxes away after I am done unpacking them. Who knew there was such a thing!

Seth is doing amazing in dental school. He did very well on his first test too! We are so proud of him. He is now living with a great family (who the husband actually is my 3rd cousin they found out... weird huh?). They are so kind to let him be there and feel more at home while we are across the country.

I'll be better about posting. We are having to much fun running around, playing in the pool, hanging out with family!

Always in a tizzy

Crazy... only word to describe our life right now. This is why there are no new posts, no new pics, and no new boring news.

To do a quick catch up before I will be able to sit down and do pics and more details though..... we moved back to Boise. Sad and happy to say goodbye to Rexburg. It was a crazy trying to get all moved. Thank goodness for family though!

We got home and Seth took the DAT for the last time (yeah!). HE DID AMAZING! He got a 22 on the test which is in the 97th percentile! We were sooooo proud of him.

Because of this new score (this is the very short version of this story) we got a call from Lousiville a week ago Monday with an acceptance. Everything felt right to go so we did. 6 hours later, Seth and his dad drove to Kentucky without stopping. They got here at 3 a.m. in the morning on Wednesday.

Now, I am sitting in Lousiville with Claire sleeping in a port-a-crib in the bathroom. We are hot and sweaty from the humidity and tired of looking for housing but LOVING the experience and can't wait to be here for the next 4 years!

Claire is 9 months old tomorrow! She is so close to crawling... up on her hands and knees and rocks. She laughs all the time and is finally eating her solid food so much better. Now to work on the sippy cup so she can get hydrated in this heat!

Life is crazy but awesome right now. I'm nervous about a move and a new city but it's beautiful here. I will post pics of our recent happenings from the last month soon!

Beginning of the summer

Our time in Rexburg is coming to an end. I can't believe that it is finally here. I am not sure how I quite feel about leaving yet... mixed feelings but more on the side of excited to get out. Besides having a bomb of boxes and anxiety attacks because of the mess... I have done some sewing and hitting all our fav places one last time. Right before our friends moved.... Claire had a lot of excitement and ended up just falling asleep on the couch. She has never done that before. As you can see... the move tuckers her out also.

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Claire has been rolling over for quite sometime. She just didn't know how to get from her belly to her back. This led to much frustration. But somewhere in these past weeks.... she has discovered how to go back and then keep on rolling! It is awesome to watch. I love watching her go from her belly to back because she puts her whole head into the ground and pushes. I actually got her on video (she saw the camera and actually kept going instead of staring at me). Hooray!

AND... she has her first tooth coming through! Hooray!
